Greetings from all of us here at Hank Lee’s Magic Factory. The long Arctic Winter. Weeks without sunshine. Icicles nearly twenty feet long hanging from the roof (I kid you not on this. And, those aren’t even the biggest ones). Ice Dams (is this a purely New England phenomena?) causing water to seep into the house requiring more buckets every day. And, the most frustrating phenomenon of all. Phone calls from our friends in the South asking us how the weather is here in the Northeast. How is it? I’ll tell you. It’s cold and snowy and slushy and wet and gray. So, while you love you all very much, don’t call and ask about the weather. We know it’s bright and sunny and warm where you are. No need to rub it in.

This week was Groundhog Day. Punxsutawney Phil came out, did not see his shadow, so we are told it will be an early Spring. Yippy! Can’t come son enough for me.

I received some very nice emails about last week’s Conclave blog. And, some registrations. I am glad you folks liked the blog, and even more pleased that you will be with us at the Conclave.

Lucas The Singing Son has returned to Oberlin College. Waaa. I am sad. It’s great to have him, or Aron, or both boys, home. Lucas spent his extended Winter Break with us. So, not only did we have his delightful company, but we had a built in snow shoveler. Now, what am I supposed to do? I guess I’ll have to give Bonnie ten dollars and a shoveling lesson the next time it snows.

(3) Highflyer – Peter Eggink: A must-have for anyone who performs the Ambitious Card!
A card is freely selected and signed across its face by the spectator. The signed card is repeatedly placed into the middle of the deck and arrives magically back on top! Explain that you can’t actually “see” the card appear at the top of the deck.
For that reason the you sign your name on the back of the spectator’s signed card, and once again the card is placed back in the middle of the deck and shuffled thoroughly.
With just a shake of the deck, and under impossible conditions, the spectator’s signed selection visually and magically reappears on top of the deck!
Now for the final kicker: Explain that the signed card is so ambitious that sometimes it wants to go even further than the top.
The signed card is placed face-up on top of the deck and the deck is placed onto the spectator’s hand.
