First off, I would like to take a moment to congratulate Mark and Nani Wilson on the 50th Anniversary of the Magic Land of Allakazam. For so many of us, it was the first peek we had into the world of magic. Those of us who were privileged to grow up with the Magic Land of Allakazam on our TV Sets owe a huge “Thank You” to Mark and Nani. And, let’s not forget Bev Bergeron as Rebo The Clown!
Several weeks ago, I prematurely announced the Streaming Video department here at Hank Lee’s. My bad. I thought it would be up and running. I thought the programming to get it rolling would be a walk in the park. Wrong. It has taken over a month to add the Streaming Video to our online catalog. By the time you get this email, it should be running perfectly. I tested it myself earlier in the week, and it looks so cool!
Here’s the way Streaming Video works. We have set up a Category in the Online Catalog at www.magicfact.com. The Streaming Video category is between Stage Magic and Street Magic in the Categories on the left side of the page. When you click on the button, you will be taken to our Streaming Videos page. At this point there about 135 DVD titles, but more will be coming all the time. You choose the DVDs you want, go through the ordering process, and you are then able to watch the DVDs right on your computer. PC or MAC. You can watch the DVDs as many times as you want, fast forward, rewind, etc. And, you will have your very own Streaming Video “locker,” where your videos will be kept, forever. So, you can watch them any time you want. This is so cutting edge!
In order to purchase the Streaming Videos, you must be a registered in our Online Catalog. It’s easy as pie to do. Just click on the Register Button and fill out the info. What could be simpler?
Now that summer is winding down, it’s time to start thinking about all those Halloween shows, coming up in just a couple of weeks. We have our Halloween Magic Shop up online and waiting for you! Go to the front page at www.magicfact.com and click on the pumpkin with my face carved into it. You will be taken to a fabulous collection of Halloween Magic. And, really, now is the time to think about what you’d like to add to your show!

(2) Ring Grinder Deluxe: Another beautiful piece from Dave Powell. Crafted from the finest hardwood with antique solid pewter hardware, each one is signed, numbered and limited to 50 pieces.
Dave’s clever design allows for the spectator to handle the prop throughout the routine. It is so much funnier when "they" grind up the ring and dump the pieces out the front door!
The effect is classic. Ask to borrow a ring from a spectator and upon receiving it explain that it must be cleaned before performing the magic. Produce your ring-cleaning machine and delicately place the ring into the box. Hand the box to the spectator and, when they start to turn the handle, a terrible grinding noise comes from inside of the box! Apparently they turned the wrong lever, which turns the ring into its most basic powdered form! They open the box and tilt it towards the floor. Sure enough, the remnants of what was the ring pour out of the box.
As a consolation, you reach into your jacket and remove an envelope. Of course when the spectator opens up the envelope they are much relieved to find their ring in perfect condition!

(8) Miracles Of My Friends II – Burton Sperber: In 1982 Burton Sperber published Miracles of My Friends in a limited numbered edition. (10) Check-Mate – Ron Fetzer: From the brilliant mind of Ren Fetzer comes this little gem!
A spectator freely selects a card from a shuffled deck.
Next the spectator is given a "post-it" sticker to place on the selected card and then asked to sign it. The signed card is then mixed back into the deck.
The magician removes a drive-up deposit envelope from his checkbook. A note reading “Your Interest Is Enclosed” is removed from the envelope. Looking inside the envelope the spectator finds their signed card. Everything can be examined.
Here is an updated version of card to wallet using an ordinary checkbook.
