Greetings from all of us here at Hank Lee’s Magic Factory. A beautiful week here in New England. I hope you all had a very pleasant Memorial Day weekend. We took a trip out to the Western part of the state and attended a major craft show. Not to be confused with an arts and crafts show. There was no construction paper or white glue. There were a lot of amazing artists displaying their wares. While it would not have been my choice to drive a hundred miles to attend a craft show, Bonnie really wanted to go. It’s all part of that marriage thing. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.
Reports from Italy indicate that Aron the Elder Son is having a fabulous time. He has emailed us some photos, and Florence looks truly amazing. I think I will ask Bonnie again why it is that the kids go to Europe while we stay home? If there’s any truth to reincarnation, I have decided that I want to come back as one of my kids.
Wednesday morning I awoke to a delightful case of conjunctivitis. This is an eye infection which I thought you got from your kids. Since none of my kids have it, I can only assume that it’s the result of being poked in the eye too many times with a sharp, apparently dirt, stick. The cure is to apply drop to the infected eye every two hours. I am not sure how to get the Johnny Walker into the eye dropper, but I suspect I will work it out. The beauty of it is that when my eye is cured, I can drink the rest of the bottle. Yippee. Can you tell where the truth in this story end and suddenly drops into fantasy?
What with the short week and all, there’s not a tremendous amount of news to report. So, I will get right to this week’s excitement!

For every order you place, we will send you some brand new, right off the shelf, magic equal in value to the merchandise you ordered. Whaaaaat? Crazy, right? Maybe not so crazy. Ask the folks who took advantage of this the last time around and got hundreds and hundreds of dollars in free magic! We have a truckload of great new stuff just arriving for this promotion.
Here’s how it works. If you buy $50.00 in merchandise, we will send along with your order another $50.00 in free merchandise. Same for $100.00 or $200.00 or $300.00 or more. However much you spend, we will match it with additional magic of the same value.

(3) Oil And Water Remixed – David Solomon: Oil & Water is one of magic's most enduring plots.
It's an extremely visual trick. Audiences love it. Now you can learn the ultimate version of this classic card effect - David Solomon's Technicolor Oil & Water.
Two packets of cards are shown: four reds with red backs and four blacks with blue backs. The cards are mixed - cleanly, clearly, and unquestionably. Yet with a wave of the magician's hand, the colors separate - red from black and red from blue! This magical restructuring happens three times, each demonstration being more clear, magical and mystifying than the last.
Technicolor Oil & Water is a visual extravaganza, an eye-popping close-up illusion that's sure to leave your audience breathless. Best of all, there's no sleight-of-hand required to perform the effect.
On this DVD, Solomon teaches every nuance of Technicolor Oil & Water, as well as two other versions of the plot (Small Color Collision and Simplex Oil & Water), both within the reach of nearly every card magician. Learn versions that require gaffs, and those that don't.
As a bonus, inventive up-and-coming magician Jordan Cotler teaches his own version of the trick, called Oil Slick.
Included are special cards, printed by the US Playing Card Company, as well as printable PDF instructions for each effect on the DVD. $20.00 (30.1493)
(4) Resurrection: Show four pieces of a card, and place them on top of the deck. Holding the card box above the deck, the pieces instantly reform themselves into a single complete playing card!
Very easy to perform, Resurrection comes with all the gimmicks necessary, including both the pieces and the whole card. Supply your own deck of Bicycle cards.
Once you see the demo video, you will want this one, for sure! $29.95 (30.1492)
(5) Classic Deceptions CDRom – Jack Chanin - Jack Chanin (1907-1997) wrote about manipulation, sleeving, and sleights in his now-scarce books, and he created hundreds of magic effects for close-up and stage, all highly practical and commercial. Chanin marketed many of his creations from his Studio of Magic in Philadelphia, where he inspired generations of magicians.
This is a CD collection of his rare material, with over 275 effects in more than 600 pages from his books, lecture notes, magazine contributions, and instruction sheets. Working magicians will find routine after routine to add to their performing repertoires in this incredible compilation. His cigar magic, sleeve work, and coin routines were ahead of their time and ready for the modern performer and his audiences!
You'll get his Encyclopedia of Sleeving, Cigar Magic, J.C. Coin Routines, Grand Finale, six other publications, plus fifty Chanin effects from magazines and a large selection of instruction sheets, all easily searchable in convenient PDF format on CD. A true bargain for the smart performer!
(6) Quantum Mechanics – Irving Quant and Dan & Dave: Irving Quant is a practitioner of the technical and historical aspects of magic as well as a working professional. He is a student of the great René Lavand.
This new DVD reveals a selection of his finest card magic and an awesome new technique for controlling not just a single card, but multiple cards in a way you probably never imagined. He calls it the Distribution Technique, and it unlocks a whole new level for card magicians.
What is the Distribution Technique?
It is a utility move, like the Clip Shift, that can be applied to literally endless applications. On this DVD, Irving explains many of its possibilities with several of his favorite effects.
Immediately after any four of a kind, let's say the Kings, are clearly shown on top, the pack is riffled causing them to vanish. The cards are then spread to show the Kings are now evenly distributed face-up throughout the deck.
A mysterious production of four cards that visually appear face-up as the deck is spread across the table.
The four Kings are face-up on top of the deck as the spectator places the four aces face-up throughout the deck. The cards are cleanly squared with nothing to see. With just a riffle of the cards, the Kings and Aces instantly transpose.
A variation of Pure Slap that has fooled many magicians and is great for your most skeptical spectators.
From a shuffled deck, the cards are tossed onto a table. As the cards land, they break into four even packets. The spectator can now turn over the top card of each to reveal the four Aces.
The four Kings are placed face-up on top of the deck. Four selections are now removed and clearly inserted back into the deck. Everthing is squared. With just a riffle, the Kings vanish from the top. The deck is spread out to show the Kings are now face-up throughout the deck and directly next to each selection
This is a beautiful version of Bill Goodwin's Slap Exchange.
Ace Cutting 1
Irving's tribute to John Scarne's 'Cutting to The Aces'. After the cards have been thoroughly mixed, you prove that no breaks, crimps or jogs will be used. You then proceed to cut to the four Aces.
Ace Cutting 2
Similar in effect to Ace Cutting 1, however, in this variation, you explain that the reason why you were able to cut to the Aces is because they were marked as you turn them over to show they're a different back design from the rest of the deck. It doesn't stop there though as you now turn over all the cards to show they're blank.
Many of the tricks on this DVD heavily rely on this technique. "It's a new principle in card magic that allows for many new ideas." It's a technique for controlling multiple cards throughout the deck or the opposite of a multiple shift
Thering Multiple Shift
Irving's method for controlling multiple cards from the center of the deck to the top.
Irving's variation of the Atfus switch, a technique used to switch cards undercover. Extras: Multiple Peek Control, Ambitions Kings, Switch Location, Theron's Trick.
(7) Flink Key – Karl Bravosky: The Flink Key appears, vanishes, links, folds, flies and much more.
One precision-made key does it all
