Greetings from all of us at Hank Lee’s Magic Factory. I hope your week was as much fun as ours. We seem to be in the midst of an Indian Summer, which means that it should be getting chillier every day, but instead, we have temps in the 80s. Very confusing.
I spent a good deal of the week emailing and speaking with acts for next year’s Cape Cod Magic Conclave. And, it is starting to shape up very nicely. At this point, I have some “definites” whose names I can mention. Chuck Fayne will be with us, and Chuck says that this will be his last trip to America. If you have never seen Chuck work, you are in for a treat. Harry Anderson will be here, and will be doing the late-night Saturday show. The same show that he was doing in New Orleans before the Katrina mess. Seeing Harry is worth the price of admission, as they say. The Buck Twins, Dan & Dave, will be here. They will be doing a lecture and then a separate workshop. Britain’s Marc Oberon has signed on, fresh from his recent FISM win. And, Charlie Frye & Company will be here. If you saw them the last time they were at the Conclave, you know how spectacular they are. More acts are in the pipeline but I cannot mention them as they are not definite yet. We are anxiously awaiting the release of Peter Loughran’s Frozen Glow. We have read Peter’s description and watched the demo video. We absolutely cannot figure out how it works. Peter has stumped the magical braniacs here at Hank Lee’s, which is a rare feat indeed. The effect is scheduled to release at the end of this month, and we are quite excited about it. There’s not too much to report from the home front, which I guess is good. The old adage that no news is good news seems to apply here. We made it through the family dinners last weekend intact, which is always good news. I experimented with baking “Nothings,” a traditional cookie that seems to require an oven built before 1930. Two batches. Two failures. They’re supposed to be tall and air-filled. Mine were flat and doughy. Where did I go wrong?

iChange Project – Peter Nardi: A complete sell-out at MAGIC Live 2009
This effect is without doubt one of the most direct and cleanest cards in pocket transposition effects ever created.
Four Aces and four Kings are shown and the four Aces placed into four different pockets about your person. Each card really is fairly placed into the pocket and nothing is stolen back out.
The four Kings are now fanned to display the faces, and the backs may also be shown if you wish. With no sudden moves, the cards are turned face up again and spread wide to show the four Aces!
Without any false moves, the first card is removed from the first pocket to show it is now a King! Then the second, third and fourth cards are each removed to show that all four Kings have changed places with each of the four Aces!
The cards are now placed on your spectator's outstretched palm and she is asked to place her other hand on top. Your spectator is now asked to name Kings or Aces and in this case, we assume she chooses Aces. She now spreads her hands apart to show that the Aces have totally vanished and just the four Kings remain in her hands!
You reach back into each pocket, totally empty hands each time, and one by one, remove the four Aces from the four separate pockets once again!
All cards can be examined and you end totally clean!
