What a wonderful week this has been. I can’t think of a week when things have felt more right. Everyone here watched the Presidential Inauguration on Tuesday, and it really felt good. I don’t know about you, but I found myself glued to the television for the entire afternoon and evening, watching every bit of Inaugural coverage and finding myself wanting more. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a political commentary. Far from it. Maybe that’s the best part. It doesn’t feel political, it just feels right. It feels normal. The little girls having an Inaugural Sleep-over at the White House. The genuine, honest-to-goodness I like you, smiles, all around. The knowledge that there is a lot to do to fix the problems in this country, but the belief that it can be fixed. As you know, I have been checking my mailbox every day for the hope and change that were promised months ago. On Tuesday I checked the mailbox, and they were there! I love America and I love being an American. This week, for the first time in far too long, I am really proud to be an American.
Please don’t take my comments as being political in any way. I’m just letting you know the way I feel. I am glad that for the first time in a very long time, I can look into the future and feel good. I hope you all feel the same way.
