Now, let’s take a look at this week’s Hotlist.
Nailed It - John T. Sheets: A large steel nail measuring 6 inches long and 1/4 of an inch thick is examined by a spectator. The performer then holds the nail at its center by the tips of the forefinger and thumb. The performer concentrates, and the nail begins to soften, then bend to almost 90 degrees! This is shown from all angles, it really is bent! Concentrating again, the nail slowly begins to straighten out.
Once straight, the nail is immediately handed out for examination. No switches! The examined nail is the one that bends and straightens!
The speed, angle, and start-stop action of the bend is under the control of the performer at all times. No reset. No pulls, No magnets, No chemicals, No heating or cooling. No covers, and no sleeves or jacket needed.

Free Lunch – T.C. Tahoe and Paul Romhany: Most performers realize the importance of handing out their business cards, but just as important is getting the business card of your audience members.
Remember, everyone is a potential client. TC Tahoe and Paul Romhany introduce Free Lunch, an ingenious new mentalism routine that is fast becoming the hottest item amongst professional magicians in the know.
This can be performed two different ways, one for stage and the other for walk-around. Both versions are included with this set.
STAGE ROUTINE:
Performer brings out a small fish bowl, containing about thirty business cards. He reads off a few of the names on the cards showing the cards to the people in the front couple of rows. He talks about how restaurants have bowls like this and each week they draw a card out and somebody wins a free lunch. Of course the performer can't give away a free lunch, but might have pickles and jam somewhere.
The performer then drops the cards back in the bowl and shakes them up, mixing them. A spectator is then asked to take out any card while the performer turns his head. Without seeing which card was chosen, the performer is then able to mentally determine information on the card such as phone number, name and even the zip code!
At the end of your show the bowl can be placed out for clients to drop their own cards in the bowl, building up your client list! TC Tahoe uses this on cruise ships to promote and sell his magic DVD.
WALK-AROUND ROUTINE:
This is the perfect routine if you want to collect business cards from potential clients in any close-up or walk-around situation and hand out your own. These cards have been prepared enabling you to include the spectators’ cards in the pile.
Again, spectator chooses a card and without seeing it you know exactly what the name on the card is, the phone number and a surprise climax that will knock their socks off! You use your own business card to write on and let them take it away with them.

Lottery Card - Peter Eggink:
