So Cold

Greetings from all of us here at Hank Lee’s Magic Factory. I would love to tell you how exciting this week was, but let’s be honest. It’s the middle of January. It is bitter cold here in the Northeast. Thankfully, we are not buried in snow, yet, but lots of the country is shoveling like there’s no tomorrow. The new Catalog is out. The talent for the Conclave is all booked. The new Extra is with our crack artist, Mark Wing. It feels like this week things have been running on autopilot. And, sometimes that’s good. It gives me a chance to clear some paper from my desk!

I was trying to decide what to do for you all, excitement wise, this week. The elves suggested an “Everything At Full Price” event. While I liked the idea, I didn’t think it would cause much of a ripple of excitement, so check out what I did decide.

DVD Giveaway: This week, we are not having a sale. We are having a plain old giveaway. You got it. It's a DVD Giveaway! For the next seven days, from right now until Thursday, February 1st, at midnight, you have the opportunity to get DVDs for free! But, you have to get them the old fashioned way. You have to earn them.

Here's the way it works. For every order of $100 or more, you get one free DVD (your choice of any single DVD that sells for $35.00 or less). If you spend $200 or more, you get two free DVDs (again, your choice). $300 or more gets you three free DVDs. And on it goes. The more you buy, the more you get for free! It's an incredible deal when you figure that the average price of a DVD is $35.00! In order to claim your free DVD, just put the name of the DVD in the Customer Notes Box at the bottom of the second page of the online checkout (after you fill in your name, address, etc.) at www.magicfact.com. If you phone your order in to our toll free number at 800 874 7400, just let the order-person know what free DVD you want. If you FAX the order to us at 781 395 2034, same thing. Just let us know which ones you want. Remember, the giveaway ends on Thursday, February 1st, at midnight!

Now, kids, let’s take a look at this week’s Hotlist!

Kate & Edith: Kerry Pollock and Doc Eason have just released this long out of print routine, one of the funniest routines in magic. It features rhymed patter, which will have the audience rolling on the floor. The routine has been thoroughly audience tested in comedy and magic clubs all over the United States.
During the routine the King of Hearts is removed from between the Queen of Spades and the Queen of Clubs three times. Each time he manages to reappear. Finally, he vanishes in a cloud of laughter!
You receive most complete tutorial possible. Scripts from Dan Garrett, Doug Slater, RJ Owens and Doc Eason are included in pdf form so that, once you have chosen the version you want to use, you can download and print it.
Doc talks about several different methods to memorize the script.
In addition, they have included an audio file of Doc’s script which you can download to your iPod to learn it that way.
They have also included four live performances: one from Kerry, one from RJ Owens and two from Doc. These views give you a chance to see how the routine plays in front of real audiences.
The DVD covers the handling, care and feeding of the props, and cautionary notes about when not to do this routine, as well as additional tips from Bill Palmer, Bob Escher and a clever reworking of the script by Doug Slater and Paul Landry.
Comes with four Jumbo Cards, including the special gimmick. The cards are made of sturdy plastic, so they should last a lifetime. $49.95 (60.583)

And, that’s this week’s Hotlist Hit Parade. Not bad for a dull week in the middle of winter. In fact, it’s pretty darn good. This week’s new items are quite exciting, actually!
