Greetings from all of us at Hank Lee’s Magic Factory. This has been a week of excitement, for sure.
It all started last weekend, when Bonnie and I (hard to believe that we did something without either of the boys) flew to Baltimore for the weekend. The main thrust was a trip to Camden Yards and a chance to watch the Red Sox play the Orioles in an out of town game. Truth is, from the moment we got on the plane, it felt like we were in Red Sox Nation. Just about everyone on the plane was wearing a Red Sox item. A hat, a tee-shirt, a jacket. It was a fun flight, for sure. We went to the game Sunday afternoon, and it was a blast. Camden Yards is an absolutely beautiful park, totally designed for baseball watching. No obstructed views; you can see the action no matter where you are sitting. The place was full of Red Sox fans, having a plain old good time. The Red Sox won the game, which of course made the good time even better.
Graduation: This weekend is Lucas’ High School Graduation weekend. We are most definitely the proud parents. The Senior Prom is Friday night. The actual Graduation is Sunday, and then the school hosts an All-Night Party from 10:00 PM on Sunday until 6:00 AM on Monday. It’s such a good idea. The kids are not allowed to bring in any kind of alcohol or other contraband. And, once they are in, they cannot leave until the next morning. So, it is perfectly safe, very well chaperoned and a really fun time. Aron is flying in for the weekend on Thursday afternoon, so that just adds to the excitement.

Mind Whisper: A mind-blower from Bob Solari!
Invite two volunteers on stage to assist you.
The volunteers are positioned on opposite sides of the stage. Ask the first volunteer to merely think of any card, but not to announce it, just think of it.
Ask the volunteer to quietly whisper the name of her thought-of card in your ear. Now introduce a deck of cards and remove them from the case.
Show the first volunteer that the cards are completely mixed.
Remove the thought-of card and ask the volunteer to place the card in her pocket. The only two people who know the identity of this card are you and the first volunteer. Not even the audience knows the card’s identity!
Replace the cards in the case and walk to the other side of the stage. Hand the second volunteer the closed case.
Ask her to clear her mind and concentrate.
Ask the second volunteer if she is getting an “image” of a card in her mind. “Yes,” she says!
Ask her to name the card out loud and ask the first volunteer to remove the card from her pocket at the same time and show it to the audience.
It is a perfect match!

Tube - Jason Messina:
Here's just some of what's possible with the Tube system:
You meet someone at a party, and explain that you had a dream about them a month ago. You write something down on a piece of paper, fold it up and hand it over. It could be put in an envelope or hung from the ceiling. You never touch it again.
Explain that your dream had something to do with a book. Hand them the book and they turn to any page. The book is completely normal. No duplicate pages, no forcing of page numbers, no peeks. They begin reading from that page and you look stunned. You refuse to have them open the paper. It's just too strange!
The paper is finally opened and there is link to a YouTube video written down. You never touch the paper, nothing is switched, no double writing. When they go to your YouTube page there is one video, clearly uploaded a month ago. The video shows you sleeping in bed, then violently awaking and talking to the computer. You tell the camera that you just had a dream and start describing the scene from the book that your friend just read out loud.
The video really was uploaded a month ago to YouTube!
You could have someone think of a card and you reveal it on video. Again, you write down the YouTube link to your video beforehand and it's the only video there, uploaded well before the performance date.
Now you can duplicate drawings, predict future events, read minds and even travel in time with the greatest of ease.
