Let The Grilling Begin!

Greetings from all of us at Hank Lee’s Magic Factory, and a fine week this has been. Truthfully, I have a lot of ground to cover today, so there’s not much time for chit-chat.
First, allow me to direct your attention to the Online Catalog at www.magicfact.com. The discerning among you will have already noticed that there are two new “Categories” in the list on the left side of the page. Actually, these are two Mini Stores, specialized Boutiques as it were. One is the Joe Porper Store, where you will find everything Joe Porper. Joe’s stuff is some of the finest in magic, and we have assembled it all in one place, just for you. The second Mini Store is the Street Magic Store. Here we have gathered all kinds of stuff, perfect for performing, where else, on the street. This is a really subjective list, so check it out and if you think we have missed some items that belong on the list, let me know and I will add the item(s), quick as a bunny.

We have been working on a new format for the weekly email Letter. If you receive the letter in html format, you will already see it, and, if I do say so myself, I think it looks just great. If you are receiving the Text Only version of the email Letter, just go the the URL Address at the bottom of the letter, and edit your profile so that you will receive the html version. It is way more cool, trust me!

Lucas’ Junior Prom was last Friday night, and I just knew you would want to see a photo of Lucas dressed in his fabulous prom-attire. He’s the one on the left. Of course, if you are still getting the Text Only version, he is not there at all. Change your profile to get the html version. Are you detecting a theme?

Finally, as a Public Service, I need to remind you that we are heading into Memorial Day Weekend, the official start of Grilling Season. Make sure you load up on charcoal, charcoal-starter, fire extinguishers and for goodness sakes, make sure the gas container is full. Nothing worse than running out in the middle.
And, speaking of the long weekend, I think you will really like this week’s excitement, even though it’s a short one!

SECOND CHANCE SALES EVENT. Why? To give those of you who were too busy this week loading up on charcoal and hot dogs and potato chips a second chance to save some serious money. For the next four days, from the very moment you receive this email until Monday, May 28th at midnight, everything (well, almost everything) is on sale! All you need to do is enter the special code SECONDCHANCE in the Discount Coupon Box at the bottom of the first page of the online checkout at www.magicfact.com and we will automatically deduct 25% from your order total. If you are calling your order in to the Toll Free Order Line at 800 874 7400, FAXing your order to us at 781 395 2034 or emailing your order to magicfact@aol.com make sure to mention the special code so you can save a huge 25%!
There are a few rules that apply, as with all things in life.
(1) The minimum order to use the 25% off discount is $25.00.
(2) The 25% is deducted from the retail price of the item. No intermediate discounts (such as HankoGram pricing) may be applied. In the case of sets, such as DVDs and Videos, the 25% is deducted from the retail price of each item and not from the set price.
(3) Certain items, due to contractual restrictions, are not included in this sale. All Joe Porper items, Paul Harris Prime Time Magic items, Viking/CW items, Kennedy Enterprises items, Colin Rose items, Mike Caveney Books, JB Magic, Martin Breese, Mikame Craft items, Greater Magic Teach-In DVDs, One Of A Kind Collectors' Items and a few other items are not included in the sale.
If you place an order for an item that is not on this list or not noted in our online catalog, but is excluded from the sale, we will let you know before processing your order.
(4) Coupons will be deducted from the order total before the discount is applied.
And that's it. It could not be easier. So, get your order together and save yourself some serious money! But, act quickly. The sale ends Monday at midnight!

Maurice Fogel: In Search Of The Sensational – Chris Woodward & Richard Mark: When magicians caught a bullet in their teeth...
He caught six!
When magicians did spook shows...
His ghosts were nude!
When magicians did rope tricks...
He put a noose around his neck and jumped!
When magicians predicted a chosen number...
He predicted which of six rifles should be aimed at his forehead!
He was Maurice Fogel, the twentieth century's most audacious mentalist and one of its greatest showmen. His feats of mind reading captured headlines around the world - when he wasn't predicting them. He dared death, he read minds and he became a legend in his own time.
Here is a taste of a typical Fogel performance:
Six volunteer marksmen were invited on stage to operate six legitimate, loaded and fully functioning rifles. One man chose a rifle at random and fired at a saucer, shattering it to smithereens. The discharged rifle was set with the five still-loaded ones in a rotating rack and the rack spun until no one could know which was the empty weapon. Each marksman was assigned a random number and took a random rifle from the rack. Fogel next revealed a predicted number that had been in full view and isolated from the start. The marksmen were all told to aim at saucers over Fogel's head—but the man assigned the predicted number was to aim directly at Fogel's forehead. Then, on his command they all fired!
To some he was a mental wonder; to others, an enigma. For years he strode the stages of the world, reading minds and using his strange powers to defy death. This is the chronicle of the life of a master mentalist whose like has never been seen. He baffled the world and his peers. He defied death for years on a near nightly basis. He created an extraordinary body of professional mentalism that has remained among the most coveted material in the field.
This book contains that material, along with the advice, experience and stories of a lifetime of professional performance by one of the world's most acclaimed mentalists.
Written and collected by Chris Woodward, an award-winning magician and Fogel's son-in-law, in collaboration with mentalist and Fogel confidant Richard Mark, here at last is the definitive work on Maurice Fogel, the man and his secrets.
440 pages in elegant hardcover with book ribbon. $71.95 (BK01527)

Cobra Deck – Kikuchi: The most wonderful version of the Haunted Pack ever!
Have a card selected from a Bicycle poker-size deck. No force. The card can even be signed.
The spectator returns the card to the deck. You square up the pack and set it on the table.
Now the magic begins!
Slowly the top half of the deck begins to move forward. The deck is cutting itself!
At about the halfway point, the top part of the deck starts moving backward leaving one card protruding from the pack.
The cards continue moving back until the deck is once again square.
Remove the one protruding card. Of course, it is the selected card!
Totally mechanical. Easy to do. A beautiful piece of work. Comes with instructional DVD. $34.95 (30.1239)
