(8) LemoNegg 2.0 – Jeremy Pei: Available again! A highly entertaining and logical presentation for the classic Bill in Lemon. A spectator is invited up on stage, to join you on an imaginary trip to the supermarket. A bill is borrowed and signed (or its serial number written down for verification later). The bill is placed into a purse, which is handed to the spectator for safekeeping. Explain that you have already made a prediction, of what you think the spectator will imagine buying. A sealed, brown grocery bag is displayed and you ask that the spectator turn away as you show the rest of the audience the predicted item. The item is seen by everyone to be an egg; it is placed back into the bag, the bag is resealed and then placed on a table where it remains in full view. The spectator turns back and you take out a set of cards, which you explain shows various items that one can readily purchase from the supermarket. As the cards are shown to the audience one after the other, it is seen that all of the cards are actually “EGG” cards! The entire audience laughs along as you name different items as each card goes by, giving the spectator the impression that it is actually a fair choice. Tell the spectator to call out “stop” when they please. They do, their apparently “fair” selection is shown to them and they are asked to guess how much this item would cost at the supermarket. They are then asked to announce the item that they have purchased, to which they reply, “LEMON.” To everyone’s surprise, they turn the card around and it shows a big yellow lemon! You immediately open the grocery bag, and out rolls a lemon! The bag is torn open and shown to be completely empty, to a round of applause. Next, you ask that the spectator deduct the cost of the lemon as mentioned earlier, from the denomination of the bill in the purse, claiming that the exact change has somehow miraculously appeared in the purse. However, when the purse is opened, it is shown to be empty! You explain that this is because the lemon that they have chosen is actually worth $50 (or whatever bill they’ve loaned you). Just as everyone thinks that this is one really expensive lemon, you suggest that it is actually the contents of the lemon that is worth that much. You proceed to cut open the lemon and inside is found the actual borrowed bill! (11) Wonder Worm – Alan Wong: The magician asks a spectator to make a selection from a small pile of playing cards. The card is returned and mixed back into the pile. Now, let’s take a look at this week’s Hotlist!

(1) Perfect Time – CW/Viking:  Long unavailable, Perfect Time is quite possibly the most remarkable prediction watch ever invented.

(4) Spectrum Deck: The Spectrum Deck is the world's first and only true rainbow Bicycle deck. Magicians can now perform "rainbow deck" routines which truly change the color of the cards, not simply the back design.

(6) David Penn’s Bottle Production: When you're in a close-up or parlor setting, this has to be one of the strongest effects you can perform. You will leave them speechless when a full bottle of wine appears right in front of them.
This was David Penn's opening routine when he won The Magic Circle Close Up Magician of the Year and The IBM Close Up Competition and the reactions are guaranteed. David Penn's Bottle Production gimmick allows you to produce a bottle in the most impossible of conditions. You don't even need to wear a jacket! If your style is shirt over T-shirt, this will work too. If you are wearing a jacket you could open it up fully right before the production. There is nothing to see!

(7) Inspiration DVD Vol. 2 – Bebel and Vallarino: If you enjoyed Volume 1, you will love the Volume 2!
Bebel and Vallarino's take on some classic tricks from Ed Marlo. First, they show the original version described by Marlo. Then, they discuss and brainstorm on how to improve the original trick to come out with a newer version.
This is also one of the unique opportunity to watch two of the best card magicians in the world perform.
Beyond the tricks and techniques explained, it is a philosophy of doing card magic described for the first time.
Four routines are performed, brainstormed and improved:
Mexican 3 Card Monte:
Bebel shows and fully explains his version of the 3 Card Monte. This routine is explained in full detail.
Jean-Pierre Vallarino describes a move from Marlo that is fairly unknown, yet that can be integrated into a 3 Card Monte routine.
Card Control and Switches:
This chapter is dedicated to a technique that was originally used to control a card, and that has been transformed to become a visual card switch. Jean-Pierre Vallarino used this technique in his FISM act. Ultimately, you will be able to transform 4 random cards into 4 Aces.
Then, Bebel shows his card switch on the table, allowing you to place any card on the table and transform it into any other card, either face up or face down.
Bluff Pass:
Both Jean-Pierre Vallarino and Bebel use the bluff pass to perform a sandwich effect: Place two jokers on the table. A spectator selects a card, and with no moves of any kind, the selected card is sandwiched between the Jokers. In his version, Bebel uses a deck with a different back to perform a similar effect.
Ace Leader:
Bebel and Vallarino's take on the McDonald Aces routine, in order to make it simple and direct. Once again, this is very visual and as clean as this routine can be. Performance only, however the brainstorm session is amazing, and the performance is worth a look.

(8) Las Vegas Girls: The only Las Vegas girls I know are Lupe Nielsen and Lynetta Welch. And, I don’t think you will find their photos in this effect. In fact, I am sure you won’t.

The good news for me is that the waiting is over. I have spent the past months with the Sword of Damocles hanging over my head. It has been a debilitating time. Now, I will face the punishment for my deeds, knowing that the punishment has both a beginning and an end.

As I told you last week, we have been preparing to sell the “big house” and downsize to something more manageable for Bonnie and me. Bonnie has been totally emotional about the entire process. And, we are selling it and moving on. I am a little sad, and I should be. More than a third of my life has been in this home. Logic says that it’s just too much house, that Bonnie and I are not getting any younger and we really need to downsize. While I am a big fan of logical thinking, this time I am finding it very hard to get there.
NEWS FLASH: The Brokers’ Open House was Tuesday afternoon. The first showings were Tuesday afternoon. Offers started to come in Tuesday evening, and by Wednesday at 5:00 PM, the house was under agreement. Ask a spectator to name any card; suppose he says Six of Diamonds.
Take your deck of cards and an envelope and remove the cards from the box. Show that there are different numbers written on all backs.
Next remove the Six of Diamonds and turn it over. Suppose on the back is number 37.
Open the envelope and remove a few scratch lottery tickets. Give one to your spectator. He scratches all the boxes open, but there is no number 37!
Then you add up the top row. It turns out to be 37!
Add up another row, it also adds up to 37.
Take yet another row, horizontal or vertical, it adds up to 37.
Add up a diagonal row, it’s 37.
Add up the four corners, it’s 37.

(6) Juxtaposition – Devonte: The spectator is asked to choose between a red deck and a blue deck of cards. Let's pretend they choose the blue deck.
The blue deck is placed inside their pocket (or handed to a friend to hold) until later.

Like a shed, but attached, and big. The space was filled with stuff that Bonnie and I had actually forgotten that we had. Mostly kids’ toys. They were all in pretty good shape, so we trotted them off to Goodwill. That way, someone elses’ kids will get to enjoy them. It looks like we are just about at the end of the cleaning out process. The house looks really good, if I do say so myself.

Speaking of clearing out, Lucas the Singing Son leaves on Monday for Graduate School. He will be at Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey. A two year program. For us, the best part is that he is only a few hours drive away. So, we will get to see him a lot! I hate to be such a sentimental wuss, but I miss him already.

(4) Burger-Ler Bunnies – Graeme Shaw: Even if you are not a children's performer, this is still the ideal close up effect to carry with you. Burger-ler Bunnies is not only a very appealing effect for the younger ones, it is also a devastatingly fooling effect for the adults.
Begin by stating that most magicians own a magic rabbit at some point in their life. However, there aren't many who own four! Suiting actions with words you remove a packet of four cards from your pocket each of which has a white rabbit wearing a colored bow tie printed upon it.
Explain that these rabbits are very hungry, so you have also brought along some rabbit food. Remove another card from your wallet upon which is printed the words "Rabbit Food." Ask the audience which food they believe rabbits like best.
No matter what they answer, you flip over the card revealing a pile of cheese burgers. When the laughter has settled, you request that an audience member keep a tight hold on the burgers until the rabbits have performed their trick.
Rather than performing an effect, it appears that each of the rabbits is a little mischievous as they keep turning around to look at the burgers.
After a little byplay the rabbits not only change color from white to brown, but one even jumps magically from your pocket and back into your hand.
Since the rabbits have been so clever, you request that the spectator finally allow them to have the food. Upon flipping over the card over it is found that all of the burgers have been eaten leaving only a plate of crumbs behind.
Hopefully, the rabbits haven't eaten the burgers as they are allergic to the tomatoes in them.
Your worst fears are confirmed when the rabbit cards are flipped over and each has become a different color!

(9) Bruised: Bruised just might be the most powerful way to reveal someone's thoughts!
It is a great new way to reveal a chosen or thought of card but it is much more than that. It can be used with coin tricks, ESP tricks, to reveal a number, name, initials, or word and so on.
